The Kentucky Wildcats appear to have made another hire, and it’s a big one for Will Stein.
According to KSR’s Nick Roush, Kentucky is set to hire Louisville Cardinals director of recruiting Pete Nochta. By the sound of it, Nochta will serve in an off-field recruiting role under expected general manager Pat Biondo.

Recruiting is a large logistical operation, and he was charged with communication between players and the program, admissions, and dabbled in scouting. He was also the NFL Liaison, a role Vince Marrow held during his Kentucky tenure,” Roush wrote.
Nochta has served in various recruiting roles during his time at Louisville, as well as one season (2014) coaching tight ends. He played collegiately for Louisville (2006-10) as a tight end, which coincided with Stein’s time with the Cards (2008-12).
The irony of this is that it would come after Louisville poached recruiting coordinator Vince Marrow from Kentucky this past offseason. It appears Stein is close to returning the favor.
One to watch.
