Asahi Group Holdings, two months on from a cyberattack that rocked its domestic business, is aiming to restore its logistics systems in its home market by February.

The Super Dry brewer has issued a timetable to customers for when the company is targeting a recovery of its logistics operations and shipments.

Just Drinks understands Asahi is aiming to restore its logistics systems by February at the latest. By that point, the company is aspiring to have shipments largely back to normal. Orders are still being processed manually.

Asahi is scheduled to hold a press conference on Thursday (27 November) to explain its recovery plan and the results of the group’s probe into the cyberattack.

In September, Asahi reported a “systems failure” tied to the cyber breach, affecting production and distribution across the business. The company’s factories resumed operations a week later.

Asahi’s soft-drinks sales tumbled by around 40% in October in the wake of the cyberattack.

The company’s beer business suffered less but still saw sales decline. Preliminary revenue in October “reached over 90%” of the levels seen in the same month of 2024.

Rival brewer Kirin Holdings has said its beer arm saw its sales rise 19% compared to last October.

The preliminary revenue Asahi’s food business generated in October was down more than 20% year on year. Asahi said it had prioritised products “with high social demand”, such as infant formula and baby food.

The company has cautioned that personal information may have been compromised after the ransomware incident.

Cybercrime organisation Qilin reportedly claimed it was the source of the breach and posted 29 images to its website it claimed to be internal Asahi documents.
