The Lion wrestlers hosted conference foe Franklin County Tuesday. The winner came down to one match. A pin for one team going the other way would be a 12-point swing. That would have been enough for Rushville to overcome the Wildcats as Franklin County left town with the 46-36 victory.
“We could have had three more wins in matches where we had the opponents on their backs, but some bad positioning cost us those matches. We really wrestled well in most of our matches with just a small mistake making the difference. In wrestling, that is all it takes. No matter how many points you may be winning by, one mistake gets you pinned, and you lose,” Coach Jim Tush said.

Although this did not stop Logan Jacobs, Briggs Tackett, Michael Schlechtweg, Zaelyn Gilles, Sam Pavey and Kaleb Amos from pinning their opponents,” Coach Tush added.
Rushville joins the rest of the EIAC teams at 9 a.m. Saturday at Franklin County for the EIAC tournament.
