Italian star Federica Brignone was back on skis for the first time in 237 days on Wednesday in the next step of her comeback from severe leg injuries sustained in early April.
The Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) said in a statement that last season's overall alpine World Cup champion Brignone had a few light runs on touring skis in Cervinia.

She said last month she hasn't giving up on the Olympic dream yet and that she's working "really hard" for it. However, she also said she would only race at the Games if she was competitive.
Brignone, 35, won the overall World Cup for the second time last season before suffering tibia and fibula fractures as well as a ruptured cruciate knee ligament in a crash at the national championships on April 3.
The FISI said the return onto the snow is to "add stability and confidence to her recovery." She will continue to train on the slopes in Cevinia and in the gym for weight sessions in the coming weeks.
