Champions League line-ups: Atletico Madrid vs. Inter

Inter bring in Ange-Yoan Bonny with Lautaro Martinez, Yann Bisseck and Piotr Zielinski against Atletico Madrid, but Giacomo Raspadori is on the bench.

It kicks off at the Estadio Metropolitano at 20.00 GMT.

The Nerazzurri have a perfect record in the Champions League so far, winning all four fixtures by conceding just one goal, but are coming off a painful Derby della Madonnina defeat.

The most worrying aspect is that AC Milan have a similar defend and counter style to Diego Simeone, so they could run into the same problems.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Denzel Dumfries and Matteo Darmian are still out of action, but Carlos Augusto is once again preferred to Luis Henrique on the right.

Zielinski comes in for Petar Sucic, with Bisseck instead of Francesco Acerbi and Bonny allowing Marcus Thuram to rest that ankle, leaving Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Pio Esposito on the bench.

Atletico Madrid have stuttered in the Champions League with two home wins over Eintracht Frankfurt and Union Saint-Gilloise, but away losses in England, namely 3-2 at Liverpool and painfully 4-0 at Arsenal.

There are injury problems, as Jan Oblak, Robin Le Normand and Marcos Llorente are out of action.

Giuliano Simeone not fully fit either, but the coach’s son and younger brother of Torino striker Giovanni Simeone is able to start.

Italy international Raspadori is left on the bench along with ex-Juventus winger Nico Gonzalez, but former Atalanta left-back Matteo Ruggeri starts.

This is a squad packed with former Serie A talent, including ex-Fiorentina defender David Hancko and former Udinese defender Nahuel Molina.

Atalanta-owned Juan Musso is in goal for the injured Oblak, but Alexander Sorloth is benched in favour of more mobile strikers like Julian Alvarez and Alex Baena, leaving out Antoine Griezmann.

These sides met in the Round of 16 in 2024, when they each won the home fixtures, Atleti eventually winning on penalties.

Inter also lost the European Super Cup Final 2-0 to the Spaniards in 2010.
