WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — The Los Angeles Rams added a veteran tight end and a familiar face in the secondary on Tuesday, announcing the signing of Nick Vannett and the waiver claim of cornerback Derion Kendrick.
To make room on the roster, the team placed cornerback Roger McCreary on the reserve/injured list.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementVannett, a 10-year veteran, was signed from the Minnesota Vikings' practice squad. He brings extensive experience to the Rams' tight end room, having appeared in 115 regular-season games with eight different teams since being drafted in 2016. This season, he has played in four games for the Vikings.
For his career, Vannett has 108 receptions for 1,012 yards and nine touchdowns. He is coming off a 2024 campaign with the Tennessee Titans where he played in all 17 games and caught three touchdown passes.

AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementKendrick returns to the Rams after beginning his career with the team from 2022-23. He was most recently with the Seattle Seahawks, where he appeared in 10 games this season and recorded two interceptions and five passes defended.
The Rams originally selected Kendrick in the sixth round of the 2022 draft. In his two previous seasons with Los Angeles, he played in 32 games, making 18 starts, and notched 92 tackles and one interception.
McCreary's placement on injured reserve ends his season. The corresponding moves provide the Rams with experienced depth as they continue their push for the postseason.
