SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — A judge ruled in favor of Gainesville High to lift suspensions of 31 players involved in the fight that occurred Friday during a game against Brunswick Wednesday.
Out of 35 total suspensions given out by the GHSA on Monday, only four players remain suspended.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe altercation occurred with 1:57 remaining on the game clock. Gainesville was ahead, 42-0.
As of now, Brunswick still has 41 players suspended in all likelihood for next season’s opener, along with a $5,000 fine and one-year playoff ban for starting the altercation.
Gainesville advances to the quarterfinals to face Langston Hughes this Friday, Nov. 28.
