Nottingham Forest have made a decision on the short-term future of star midfielder Elliot Anderson.

According to the Daily Mail’s Tom Collomosse, Forest will not entertain any January bids for Anderson.

Collomosse’s story stated that Forest are “determined to disregard any approach for star midfielder Elliot Anderson during the January transfer window,” ending hopes of a mid-season move back to Newcastle for the England international.

Collomosse reported that “Manchester United are one of the clubs thought to admire Anderson,” but Forest “have no temptation to consider offers… in the middle of the season.”

The 23-year-old has appeared in every league match, becoming “one of the most impressive players in the Premier League” this term after joining from the Magpies in 2024.

Anderson has horrid numbers, having produced one goal and one assist, but remains indispensable to Forest’s game and is still years away from reaching his prime.

Collomosse wrote that he has established himself as “a key member of the England starting XI” and an automatic pick domestically.

The report made clear Forest’s stance: Anderson will not be sold in January, regardless of outside interest, and thus Newcastle will need to wait to bring him back, assuming they are interested in doing that.
