Syracuse football: what to watch vs Boston College

Much like the OrangeEagle Trophy this matchup has likely been forgotten by fans on both sides. The Syracuse Orange (3-8) will host the Boston College Eagles (1-10) with the game kicking off at 3:00 on the CW. Here’s what we’re watching for

Kevin: Are the youngsters ready?

Boston College has one of the worst defenses in the country so can the Syracuse offense find some success. We’ve seen some flashes from Tyliek Hill, Darius Johnson and Darien Williams, but can the quarterbacks give them the opportunity to make some plays? After the last two months, Syracuse needs to give fans something to hold them through the spring and summer and putting up some points would be a start.

Dom: Get the receivers in space

There’s not much more any of us could say about the offense, but what it does or fails to do ultimately determines if this is any sort of “game” or not. Based off the PTSD that came with watching the offense versus Notre Dame, Syracuse’s best shot is to play outside rather than in rather than the other way around. Screen passes, shot curls, rolls out from the pocket for quicker throws… literally anything that isn’t over the middle or across to the sidelines.
