GAME NOTES

  • TCU closes out the regular season at home on Saturday when they host Cincinnati. The Frogs are aiming for a five-win or better home record for the first time since 2022 and just the third since 2017. TCU is 18-6 at home under Sonny Dykes including an 11-2 mark in day games.

  • The Frogs are looking to record consecutive 8-win seasons for the first time in a decade, those coming in 2014 (12 wins) and 2015 (11 wins).

  • Like the Baylor game, the matchup looks to feature plenty of fireworks as quarterbacks Brendan Sorsby (8.3) and Josh Hoover (8.1) rank No. 2 and No. 3, respectively, in the Big 12 for passing yards per attempt.

  • The Bearcats also lead the country quarterback protection, allowing just 0.36 sacks per game. TCU has not gotten to the quarterback the past two games.

  • WR Eric McAlister is No. 2 nationally among P4 receivers in receiving yards per game vs. P4 competition at 97.4 YPG. USC’s Makai Lemon leads at 100.0.

  • McAlister is currently fifth in single season receiving yards and will jump in ranks at the following totals: 15 (4th), 42 (3rd), 50 (2nd), 308 (1st).

  • LB Kaleb Elarms-Orr is one of only 3 P4 linebackers to post an 85+ grade as a run defender and tackler, and 70+ in coverage according to PFF. His 70.5 snaps per game lead all P4 LBs

CINCINNATI NOTES

  • The Bearcats’ offense is propelled by Sorsby, who took a leap forward this year and has become one of the top dual-threat quarterbacks in the country. He has recorded at least two touchdowns in every game this season and had an incredible seven game streak in which he passed for 2+ touchdowns and committed zero turnovers in September and October.

  • Led by Gerhardt and PFF’s No. 5-rated guard in the nation Evan Tengesdahl, the Bearcats have allowed the fewest sacks (4.0) through 11 games in the 30-year history of the Big 12.

  • On defense, linebacker Jake Golday has 102 tackles, which ranks second in the Big 12. He is the first Bearcat with 100+ tackles in a season since Ivan Pace Jr. in 2022 (137 tackles). Golday has led UC in tackles eight times this year.

  • Cincinnati ranks second in the nation in fourth-down conversion percentage (.842) and is tied for the national lead with fewest sacks allowed (4.0). The Bearcats’ offense has allowed just 35 tackles for loss this year, third-fewest in the country and nine fewer than the next Big 12 program.

  • ESPN rates UC as the nation’s 11th-most efficient offense, second only to Utah in the Big 12.

  • Senior WR Cyrus Allen has 11 TD catches, two more than any other Big 12 player and third-most in the nation. He is two away from tying the single-season school record for TD receptions set by Marcus Bennett in 2007.
