It’s Sunday, and you know what that means — it’s time for our weekly social media roundup! It was a busy week in New York City, as the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade took over the city on Thursday, the New York Knicks’ win over the Bucks dominated headlines on Friday, and Jaxson Dart cleared concussion protocol so that he can start tomorrow against the New England Patriots. What have the Yankees been up to amidst this busy week? Let’s find out!
Happy Thanksgiving!
As always, the New York Yankees not only posted their typical, generic Happy Thanksgiving post on the holiday, they also gave back to the Bronx community, giving away 4000 vouchers, abled to be redeemed at supermarkets in the borough.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementOf course, the Yankees weren’t the only one to post on social media for the holiday. Yankee starter Cam Schlittler took to Instagram to wish the fans a Happy Thanksgiving…or rather, to say that his cat Arya wished us all a Happy Thanksgiving.
Michael Kay, meanwhile, got nostalgic, remembering the 1996 Yankees’ appearance in the Thanksgiving Day parade.
The next day, Schlittler himself posted about the 2025 season — and while he didn’t explicitly mention Thanksgiving, the timing (he posted on Black Friday) and the content very deliberately invoked the spirit of the holiday, as he celebrated the friends who joined him along the journey from a minor league pitcher to a postseason Rivalry legend.
Rizzo’s NYC Adventures
Anthony Rizzo may have a job with the Chicago Cubs, but deep down, he’s a New Yorker through and through. He posted last Sunday a hodgepodge of clips from throughout the five boroughs…and as someone who goes through Union Square frequently enough, I’m kinda disappointed I haven’t seen him on the platform.
Honoring Carlos
Carlos Rodón’s wife Ashley posted to Instagram to celebrate her husband being named to the NC State ring of honor.
Belli’s Workout
Free agent outfielder Cody Bellinger engaged in some social media negotiating this week, posting on Instagram a clip of him working out — a post which Yankees catcher Austin Wells called a “thirst trap.”
