Second quarter update #2: Herbert returned to the game with 12:23 left in the second quarter.

Second quarter update: Herbert subsequently returned to the sideline early in the second quarter. He was wearing a large protective glove on the hand while he took some practice snaps. He had multiple fingers taped together.

The Los Angeles Chargers have lost quarterback Justin Herbert to a hand injury in Week 13 against the Las Vegas Raiders. He suffered the injury on his left, non-throwing hand in the first quarter and went back to the locker room. The team announced he is questionable to return due to the injury.

Herbert was 5-of-5 for 39 yards and a touchdown at the time of the injury. Trey Lance has taken over the QB position with the Chargers leading the Raiders 7-0. Lance has made two appearances for the Chargers this season. In Week 5, he came in against the Commanders and completed three of four passes for 44 yards. In Week 11, he came in against the Jaguars and completed three of eight passes for 37 yards.
