Faced with more ongoing injury issues to the team's offense, the Detroit Lions made a couple of practice squad additions to bolster the depth following the Week 13 loss to the Green Bay Packers.

On Sunday, the Lions signed tight end Giovanni Ricci and running back Jabari Small to the team's practice squad.

Ricci has been around the NFL since 2021, when he latched onto the Carolina Panthers as an undrafted rookie. He played collegiately at Western Michigan. Ricci is a receiving-oriented type of tight end who has 9 career catches in 36 games as a reserve.

Small is a more familiar name for the Lions. The second-year RB spent three weeks in Detroit this summer during training camp. He's also had NFL practice squad experience with the Titans.

The Lions also released cornerback Tre Flowers from the practice squad to create space. Flowers was signed earlier this season when the team faced a rash of CB injuries.
