Max Brosmer was not able to provide the spark the offense needed, but there were good takeaways from the Vikings week 13 loss to the Seahawks.

The optimism in the fan base for the Minnesota Vikings was apparent all week, as UDFA quarterback Max Brosmer would be starting for J.J. McCarthy. That optimism would pass quickly, as the Vikings would lose on the road to the Seattle Seahawks 26-0, falling to 4-8 on the year.

As rough a watch as it was, it wasn't all bad one for the Vikings. Last week, there were no clear winners and all losers. But this week, there are two clear winners for Minnesota so that we will talk about those two. To keep things fair and balanced, we will also look at the two biggest losers.

Winner: Dallas Turner

Dallas Turner has been a man possessed over the last three weeks, delivering one of his best performances of the season today. Turner finished with five tackles, three QB hits, two sacks, and one pass defended, constantly being around the ball today. The question was whether he could continue this level of performance with Jonathan Greenard returning to the lineup, but he looked even better upon his return. Turner is flashing before our eyes and is finally turning the corner and becoming a standout piece of this defense.

Loser: Max Brosmer

The story of Max Brosmer depends on perspective, but overall, we will list him as a loser this week. The positives for Brosmer? Actually hitting checkdowns and showing good accuracy, at times, on downfield throws, something lacking with J.J. McCarthy.

However, the fourth-down underhand heave that resulted in a pick-six proved indicative of his performance today. A second interception on an overthrow over the middle, a third that was broken up at the point with Justin Jefferson, and a fourth late in the fourth as they were driving, but on the return would be fumbled and recovered by Minnesota.

Winner: Eric Wilson

Eric Wilson has been the unsung hero of this defense this year and had another stellar game today. He made his presence felt early and often, totaling a staggering 11 total tackles, four of which were for a loss, and one sack. In a year where it is hard to find optimism with this team, it is clear they have found another guy to help work around in Wilson. His ability to really do it all for this defense is crucial.

Loser: Jordan Addison

Name a better duo as of late than Jordan Addison and drops. Drops continue to be a killer for Addison and the Vikings, and one early in this game stalled a drive. For as talented as Addison can be with his route-running skills and pure acceleration with the ball in his hands, it's the hands part that is constantly his undoing. Addison was the early favorite of Max Brosmer, but did very little with the number of targets he got.
