After Iowa women's basketball signee, McKenna Woliczko, was chosen as one of 85 rising superstars featured on the 2025-26 Jersey Mike's Naismith Girls’ High School Player of the Year Watch List on Nov. 12, Sporting News has released a fan vote to determine who the nation believes should be the front-runner(s) for the prestigious award.
The 6-foot-2 San Bruno, Calif., native signed with the Hawkeyes on the first day of the early signing period is entering her senior year at Archbishop Mitty High School, where she is ranked as the nation's No. 6 player by ESPN, Rivals, and 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Woliczko is the country's No. 2 power forward and the No. 2 player from California.
Despite missing a large portion of her junior year due to a torn ACL, she averaged 22.2 points and 8.6 rebounds per game while shooting 59% from the field prior to the season-ending setback.

Even with the season-ending injury last year, Woliczko has totaled an astonishing 1,457 points and 605 rebounds in her high school career.
Hawkeyes fans can vote for Woliczko until the poll closes at 12:59 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Dec. 10. Once the poll is completed, the results will be announced in the following days.
After the publication of the results, the final selections will be made at the discretion of the Sporting News editorial team.

Regardless of the poll's true impact, Iowa fans around the world can show their support for the future Hawkeye star by voting for Woliczko.
Woliczko's official signing with the Hawkeyes makes her the highest-ranked signee since Caitlin Clark, who was ranked by ESPN as the No. 4 overall recruit and No. 2 point guard in the 2020 recruiting class. Woliczko is the highest-ranked signee under head coach Jan Jensen.
