Lennart Karl is all the talk of the town at the moment. While many aren’t happy with the comparisons being made between him and some football legends, the talent he has shown at his age is nothing short of spectacular. One of many to realize his talent is Antonio Di Salvo, the coach of Germany’s U-21 side.

“I expect him to be able to transfer the style of play he’s showing at Bayern to our team. He’s very versatile. He should play without any inhibitions. He should now seize the opportunity to establish himself with the U-21 national team as well. He’s making the most of his chances at Bayern, playing with freedom, and has scored in both the Bundesliga and the Champions League,” as captured via @iMiaSanMia.

It is not common to see a 17-year-old get appearances with the U-21 squad, let alone starting minutes, but Karl has justified every opportunity being thrown his way. Is it too much to soon though? Some critics are afraid to rush Karl’s development, but teenagers playing on the global stage is becoming more and more frequent in recent years.

While there is always a risk, Karl has plenty to offer Bayern Munich and Antonio Di Salvo’s side. Unfortunately for the manager, it might not be long before he gets the big call from Julian Nagelsmann. With proper guidance from Vincent Kompany, Bayern legends and family, Karl can become both a great player and person.

With the World Cup on the horizon, don’t be surprised seeing Karl’s name in contention for Young Player of the Tournament, even if he still has not earned his first call up to the senior squad. While Germany has had a up and down year in 2025, the national team can emerge as contenders for next year’s tournament when you add Karl and Musiala back in the mix with Woltemade and Wirtz. 2026 is set to be a fun one.
