Continue to check back with us as we will be adding more information as it becomes available.Ready or Not 2: Here I Come images have revealed Samara Weaving's bloody return in the "sicko" sequel to the critically praised 2019 horror comedy. Ready or Not 2's story will follow up on the events of the first movie, with Weaving returning as Grace following her destructive and blood-soaked wedding night. It promises a much bigger story as well.
Now, People has released new images of Ready or Not 2: Here I Come, focusing on Weaving's return and Kathryn Newton's arrival as Grace's younger sister, Faith. The pair can be seen in multiple high-octane situations throughout the images. This includes hiding in an office space and running through a field together, desperate to escape those who are after them.
The images also tease the many new characters who will be involved in the story. This includes Sarah Michelle Geller and Shawn Hatosy as Ursula and Titus Danforth, David Cronenberg as head of the Danforth family, Elijah Wood's lawyer character, and a group image of an ensemble cast of characters. Check out the first look images below:
While not much has been revealed about the exact plot for the sequel, it appears the movie will be taking place not long after the end of Ready or Not. This time, Grace's sister will be involved alongside a new family, the Danforths, being the primary antagonists. Weaving expressed joy at returning, while teasing the "unhinged" story yet to come:
I was a bit nervous and not sure if I would remember what I was doing in the first one, but once I put that dress back on, I got super excited. The entire character came flooding back. We were all quite emotional in that fitting, actually. Revisiting the character is one thing but working with that crew again was the best part.
[Ready or Not 2 is] so unhinged, absolutely cooked — you’re gonna love it. Those sicko writers came up with a way in that's somehow both a natural progression and very surprising.
The exact nature of how this continuation happens naturally remains under wraps. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett teased something very similar for how the film will continue the franchise, specifically when it comes to their vision of keeping the sequel aligned with the original. This includes excitement about how Grace's story is going to grow:
It’s exciting to see Grace into a new f---ed-up situation that deepens her story and her character, and we wanted to make sure that this movie wasn’t just more of the same. We put a ton of love into this movie to make it a worthy sequel that we’re hoping fans of the first movie — and people who are getting to know Grace for the first time — will really love.
More to come...
