Broncos fans took over Commanders’ stadium: ‘They were incredible’

Denver Bronco fans always travel well. That's just a fact. And on Sunday Night Football, Broncos Country was loud throughout the game. At various points in the NBC broadcast, while Denver was on defense, one could very clearly hear chants of "Let's go, Broncos!"

Quarterback Bo Nix noticed it, too.

"Yeah, they were incredible," said Nix of Broncos Country's support in Washington. "They traveled well, and a long way from Denver, or we have a lot of fans up this way. It was loud, definitely at times, in really important moments. It's just fun when you go on the road and you have an atmosphere that's cheering for you and pulling for you that much; it helps. It puts you in a good mentality, and you feel like literally they got your back out there."

Broncos fans were treated to an instant primetime classic. They witnessed rookie running back RJ Harvey rush for two touchdowns, Bo Nix threw a touchdown of the year candidate, and Commanders receiver Treylon Burks had a catch of the year candidate over Riley Moss that even Denver fans could appreciate.

The game went into overtime, and it came down to a Nik Bonitto batted pass on the game's final play. "You just go out there and you don't necessarily want to perform for them, but you do want to perform for the organization because there's so many people that put a lot in for this organization that you want to give back to," Nix said.
