It was another practice session for the Detroit Lions on Tuesday without several key players participating. With just one more practice before the Lions host the Dallas Cowboys in an NFC battle on Thursday night in Week 14, the Lions were without six would-be starters and had four other players--three of them starters--limited in practice.
The offensive tackles, Taylor Decker and Penei Sewell, were each non-participants on Tuesday as anticipated veteran rest days. Decker continues to play through a shoulder injury and was given a "rest" designation along with the shoulder, while Sewell was also listed with a shoulder issue.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementStarting wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown sat out again with his low ankle sprain, suffered early in last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers. Tight end Brock Wright remains sidelined with a neck/trachea injury. Wide receiver and return specialist Kalif Raymond also missed both practices this week with an ankle issue.
Finally, safety Kerby Joseph downgraded from limited practice to sitting out with his ongoing knee injury. Joseph has not played since Week 6. Tight end Shane Zylstra, who remains on injured reserve, also fell back from limited to no practice. Zylstra's 21-day activation window opened this week.
Safety Brian Branch (toe/ankle), RB Sione Vaki (thumb) and C Graham Glasgow all remained limited participants. Left guard Kayode Awosika now appears on the injury report as well with a foot designation after not being on Monday's report.
