The Rangers have been searching for that resiliency all season, and we finally saw a glimpse of it on Tuesday night.
After getting outplayed by the Lightning this weekend, they responded with one of their most impressive performances on home ice this season against the high-powered Stars.

It looked like they weren’t going to be rewarded for their efforts, though, as Mikko Rantanen found the back of the net with Dallas’ first shot of the third to break a 1-1 tie with just 11 minutes remaining in regulation.
New York kept the pressure up, but still couldn’t sneak one by Casey DeSmith.
That is until Will Cuylle jumped on a juicy rebound off a shot from the point, and spun around and fired it by the netminder to even things up at two apiece with the Rangers’ net empty and just over two to play in the ballgame.
“It was a loose puck, I was trying to get it back on net,” Cuylle said. “They pressure hard up high, so I knew they might only have one or two guys at the net and we’d have two or three, so I was just trying to get it there and it deflected in.”

They were sure to make the most of it just minutes later, as Vladislav Gavrikov found another rebound off an Artemi Panarin shot in overtime, and he backhanded it to the back of the net to secure the much-needed second point.
“That was on Mika [Zibanejad] and Bread,” Gavrikov said. “They made great moves and I just saw the opportunity to jump in front of Bread and create some confusion. He shot and I thought he was going to score, but I was there for the rebound.”
After a dreadful start, New York has now won two of their last three games on home ice.

“Always a confidence builder when you can comeback late,” Vincent Trocheck said.
“It shows some resiliency in here,” Cuylle added. “Just bouncing back and being able to reset, being proud of the way we play in front of our fans is really important for us -- I’m glad we could put out a good effort and get the win.”
