The Boston Celtics survived a serious early punch in the mouth from the New York Knicks at TD Garden this past Tuesday (Dec. 2) night to win 123-117. The Knicks came on strong early, putting up a 14-point lead in the game's first half, only to see Boston walk that lead down to a tie in the middle of the second frame, taking the lead and never relinquishing it.
New York made a game of things late in the fourth quarter, but the Celtics won the battle of the boards 38-33 on their way to securing the home victory behind a season-high 42 points from star forward Jaylen Brown. That Boston won despite shooting just 32.0% from beyond the arc is a testament to the disruptive capacity of several of the Celtics' young forwards.
