After two matches it is clear — Union Berlin is a problem for Bayern Munich.
In the DFB-Pokal round of 16, the Bavarians scuffled their way to a 3-2 victory that was powered by two own goals from the Iron Ones. It was a battle from start to finish, but Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany can appreciate that type of effort from his squad.

For me that was not a penalty on Harry Kane. His arm and the opponent’s arm were in the same position,” Kompany said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “When you go for the ball with momentum there shouldn’t be a penalty. I’m a former defender and am familiar with such situations. I hope we’ll continue and come back to Berlin [for the final]. Such games are part of the journey.”
Kompany is not wrong — winning cannot always be aesthetic. While fans would have preferred a more convincing showing, Kompany was just happy to survive and advance.
