Niccolò Fortini is the new face emerging at Fiorentina, one of the few bright notes in a season full of complications, with the Viola still searching for their first league win.

The 2006-born full-back (he turns 20 next February) has earned more space and visibility week after week, and the results have been convincing.

Now, with Dodò likely sidelined for several weeks, that space will only increase.

As I have been reporting for months, his year in Serie B with Juve Stabia accelerated his growth.

Fiorentina determined to keep starlet Fortini

Fiorentina understood this perfectly: last summer they rejected every loan request, Torino had pushed the hardest, because the club had already decided to bet on him directly.

And they were right.

Fortini plays mainly on the left but adapts comfortably to the right when needed.

He filled in for Brazilian Dodo against Juventus, playing the second half after the right wing-back was taken off.

His contract runs until 2027, but discussions are already underway for a well-deserved renewal.

Fiorentina know they have a real asset on their hands, and they intend to protect it.
