The Golden State Warriors own their draft pick heading into the 2026 offseason. Depending on how the remainder of the regular season plays out, Mike Dunleavy Jr. could potentially have a middle-of-the-road selection in what projects to be a loaded draft class. And, while the Warriors are expected to re-enter negotiations over a potential move for Giannis Antetokounmpo, the franchise could choose to add some cost-controlled talent via the draft instead.
According to Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman, who recently released a new mock draft, the Warriors could potentially target Labaron Philon Jr. out of Alabama, assuming they have a late lottery pick available. Philon, a 6-foot-4 point guard, is somewhat of a two-way guard, capable of securing the perimeter while also teeing up his teammates and knocking down his shots.
"Consistency and improved shooting have helped sway scouts to buy Labaron Philon's breakout and NBA outlook. He's making over two threes a game, finishing at the rim with improved craft and converting his touch shots using signature footwork and control," Wasserman wrote. "He is benefiting from high usage and a green light. And his pull-up shooting hasn't been nearly as accurate as his catch-and-shoot game. There will likely be teams that prefer the younger point guards who are also more natural playmakers."
The Warriors currently boast one of the oldest rosters in the NBA. When factoring in the impact some of the team's younger talents have made amid the team's recent injury issues, it's fair to assume they could look to add another developmental talent to the roster, should they strike out on Giannis.
