After a few bumps in the road in the young season, Florida A&M baseball has a reason to celebrate.
The Ratters won their three-game series versus Central Connecticut State, which was hosted on FAMU’s Moore-Kittles Field in Tallahassee from Saturday, Feb. 28 to Sunday, March 1.
The Rattlers (3-8) split Saturday’s non-conference doubleheader with Central Connecticut State Blue Devils (1-2), winning 4-0 and losing the second game 4-1.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementSunday saw FAMU beat Central Connecticut State 9-4. It was FAMU’s highest scoring output of the season, with Justen Crews and Caden Kresak leading the Rattlers with two runs apiece.
For the weekend, the Rattlers outhit the Blue Devils 22-17.
Meanwhile, the FAMU softball team was representing the Orange and Green at the University of Central Florida’s Charge on Classic in Orlando.
The Rattlers (9-11) won just one game out of their challenging five-game slate, though. The lone victory was against Dartmouth 8-3 on Saturday.
FAMU losses in Orlando came to Wagner (9-3), George Washington (6-5), UCF (21-2), and George Washington again (2-1).
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementFAMU baseball returns to the diamond on Wednesday, March 4, versus the Florida Gators. The Rattlers will then host the Villanova Wildcats for a three-game series from Friday, March 6, to Sunday, March 8.
The Rattlers softball team begins Southwestern Athletic Conference play at the defending league champions, Jackson State, for a three-game series from Friday to Saturday, March 7. It will be a rematch of the 2025 SWAC softball title game.
