Lane Kiffin rarely hides his feelings about Mississippi State and Friday was no exception.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementThe Ole Miss coach told ESPN’s Marty Smith that Mississippi State burglarized Ole Miss’ locker room ahead of the Egg Bowl. Kiffin said surveillance cameras inside the Rebels’ visiting locker room at Davis Wade Stadium captured the incident, which he described to Smith as "I guess you can expect nothing less from these people."
According to Kiffin, the unidentified thieves broke into the locker room and stole quarterback Trinidad Chambliss’ jersey at 3 a.m. CT. He first described the brief details on the SEC Network. Kiffin reiterated Thursday the program immediately flagged building security.
The Rebels enter Friday seeking their 11th win and a likely first College Football Playoff berth. Mississippi State (5-6, 1-6 SEC) would need no paperwork to play spoiler. Kiffin, whose coaching future remains a season-long subplot, suggested the rivalry context explains the alleged heist’s motivation.

Egg Bowl kickoff is Friday with CFP implications (Noon ET, ABC).
