While the franchise’s star center, Evan Mobley, will be ready to feast on a thin Boston Celtics frontcourt, his low-post mate, Jarrett Allen, will be inactive following an unfortunate injury update.

“Cleveland Cavaliers say center Jarrett Allen will miss approximately one week with a right finger strain,” HoopsHype’s Michael Scotto reported on X/Twitter.

Despite not being a household NBA name, Allen remains among the most efficient contributors in the league.

The Texas product led the league in field goal efficiency last season (70.6%) and ranks 11th to begin his ninth campaign (57.3%).

How does Allen do it? Well, the 2022 All-Star commits to playing to his strengths and not getting out of his element on the offensive end.

From rim-running with the best of them to effortlessly finishing above the rim in pick-and-roll scenarios, Allen has embraced his skill set and ensured the Cavaliers won’t have to worry about boasting a below-average frontcourt.

Allen isn’t too shabby on the defensive end, either, as he’s a long 6-foot-9 center who can serve as an interior disruptor alongside Mobley.

The 27-year-old is contributing 14.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 15 games with Cleveland this season.

Going forward, Allen will be a pivotal contributor for a Cavaliers squad hoping to get over the hump in the Western Conference.
