Whether you're picking up Marvel Cosmic Invasion day one or playing it through Xbox Game Pass, there are a ton of different heroes to play, spanning the entire universe of Marvel.
The thing is, you need to unlock a few of the more iconic characters before you can play them. Here is the entire roster of Cosmic Invasion and how to earn everyone.
Every Character in Marvel Cosmic Invasion & Unlocks
Story Mode Will Unlock Everyone
All of these heroes are unlocked at the start of the game and can be played/leveled up immediately.
All Heroes Unlocked By Default:
- Captain America
- Nova (Richard Ryder)
- Storm
- Wolverine
- Spider-Man
- Beta Ray Bill
- Black Panther
- Cosmic Ghost Rider (Frank Castle)
- Iron Man
- Rocket Raccoon
- She-Hulk
All Unlockable Heroes
There are four unlockable heroes in all, and every one of them is unlocked by playing through the campaign. Here are all the unlockable heroes in the order in which you obtain them:
- Dark Phoenix (Complete the Blue Area Of The Moon mission)
- Venom (Complete the Destromundo mission)
- Phyla-Vell (Complete the Hala mission)
- Silver Surfer (Complete the Fort Galactus mission)
Note that Silver Surfer is the last character you'll unlock, nearly at the end of the game, so if you're really into them, you'll need to wait a bit. Phyla-Vell, who was present in previous demos of the game, is also a late unlock. These two in particular might throw you off a bit if you're wondering where they are.
Each Cosmic Invasion Character Can Be Leveled Up
New Characters Will Start At A Low Level
Base characters can be played right away in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, and can thus start earning levels from the very first stage. By the time you get through the campaign and unlock the other roster members, you'll need to level those up, too, from scratch. It's something you need to keep in the back of your mind when unlocking new characters.
Keep in mind that in Marvel Cosmic Invasion, your level can impact how well you do in any given stage. If you want to make the game more of a self-imposed challenge, you can use lower-level characters to jump into later levels. Cosmic Invasion will also gently nudge you into playing specific characters for each stage, thus spreading out your experience a bit, but it's by no means required.
