The Brooklyn Nets (5-16) were coming off arguably their best win of the season when they beat the Charlotte Hornets on Monday, but they had a tough test on Wednesday at the Chicago Bulls (9-12). Brooklyn pulled off the feat of finally winning a game in front of their home crowd and on Wednesday, they had the chance to win two games in a row for the first time this season.
The Nets beat the Bulls 113-103 on the first game of a back-to-back, but it didn't look like Brooklyn was conserving any energy for Thursday. Forward Michael Porter Jr. led the way for Brooklyn with 33 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists as he continues the best season of his career while forward Noah Clowney had 20 points and seven rebounds of his own.

Despite the fact that Giddey did his part for Chicago, the Nets continued playing team basketball on both ends of the floor. With that being said, here are the Nets player grades after Wednesday's win at. the Bulls:
Egor Demin: B+
Demin appeared to have the ball in his hands more in this one than he has had at any point this season and it was encouraging to watch the rookie navigate having to initiate the offense on consecutive possessions. Demin struggled with his shooting against the Bulls as he made a concerted effort to get into the paint with his penetration, but his defensive effort was there.
Tyrese Martin: C+
Martin earned another start with Terance Mann out of the lineup due to his rib injury, but he wasn't able to capitalize on the extra playing time with another great performance. Martin struggled with his shooting as well as he was essentially an afterthought given how much Michael Porter Jr. and Noah Clowney were involved in the offensive flow. Martin did his part to take care of the basketball and play solid defense on the perimeter.

At some point, there aren't any words to describe how Porter has been playing for the Nets this season, but he put together another dominant outing against a formidable opponent. Porter did a great job of shooting the ball in this one, but more than that, his movement without the basketball combined with his willingness to drive to the rim have made his game take the next level.
Noah Clowney: A
Clowney did a great job of shooting the ball in Chicago after struggling with his long-range shooting in the first half despite getting some good looks throughout the game. Clowney has moved into the part of his development where he is now an integral part of Brooklyn's operation on both ends of the floor, but his shooting has been encouraging to see as he tinkers with his game inside the paint.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementNic Claxton: A+
Claxton did everything that the Nets needed from him against the Bulls as he scored virtually every time he was matched up against Nikola Vucevic, especially off the dribble. Claxton also provided the rebounding, passing, and defense that Brooklyn demands from him every time he steps on the floor and he was one of the main reasons the Nets won this game handily.
Ziaire Williams: B+
Williams was one of the players on the Nets that struggled with his shot throughout the game despite getting some open looks from beyond the three-point line. Williams did a great job of playing defense on the perimeter and even though the stats may not show his impact, one can see that he is giving more effort on that end of the floor and that's what head coach Jordi Fernandez wants to see from him.

Wolf has been seeing more playing time ever since his breakout game at the Milwaukee Bucks and he is paying off on the extra playing time with the kind of plays fans were hoping to see from him before long. Wolf not only shot the ball well, but he got his hands in rebounding situations and he provided the ball-handling that Brooklyn needs in the midst of their injuries.
Day'Ron Sharpe: B
The one thing that can be said about Sharpe is that he goes out there every game and he does his job backing up Claxton without getting out of what the team expects from him. Sharpe did a good job of scoring at the rim and put forth his customary rebounding effort, but more than that, Sharpe showed how good his hands are with his disruptive he is on the defensive end.
AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisementDrake Powell: C+
Powell had a decent outing for the Nets as he didn't do anything out of the ordinary while still giving the kind of defensive effort that will surely make him a rotation play when Brooklyn is ready to win more games. Powell's athleticism and agility on the defensive end of the floor already makes him a tough player to score against and throw any lazy passes around.
Ben Saraf: B-
Saraf had some nice moments for the Nets in this one as he seems to have earned a role in the rotation as one of the backup point guards after falling out of favor earlier in the season. Saraf looked more confident with the ball in his hands and he also didn't look out of place on the defensive end as he helped his teammates when they were beat to the basket while also recovering well.
