No. 22 Indiana men’s basketball’s undefeated streak to open the Darian DeVries era came to an end on Wednesday night.
The Hoosiers, who’d won seven straight games to open the 2025-26 season, fell to 0-1 in the Big Ten with a 73-64 loss to Minnesota. As the final buzzer sounded and the win was cemented, Golden Gophers fans ran from their seats and onto the floor to celebrate with their team and fellow first year head coach Niko Medved:
After so many years mired in mediocrity, it’s weird to see Indiana get court stormed again like this. Is this truly worth reading into, really, the actions of some passionate fans on an upper midwestern night as cold as any? No, but we’re gonna write about it anyway.

I honestly can’t remember the last time Indiana got court rushed. This wasn’t as much of one as you’d get for a top-5 team, but the other instance that comes to mind is at Illinois back in 2013. It happened, it’s kinda funny, it’s not worth thinking about much beyond that.
