According to journalist Alfredo Martinez, via SPORT, FC Barcelona are still undecided on the permanent signing of Marcus Rashford at the end of the season.

The Englishman, on loan from Manchester United, has impressed heavily with his attacking contributions this season, racking up six goals and nine assists from 19 appearances.

However, doubts persist over his complete adaptability in Hansi Flick’s setup due to concerns about his off-the-ball work and pressing intensity, while his salary could also become an issue in case of a permanent move.

As such, the journalist states that there are voices within the club not convinced about activating the €30 million buy option for Rashford.

Three alternatives Barcelona are tracking

At the same time, the report also states that Barcelona are already tracking three left-wingers as possible alternatives for the summer transfer window in case Rashford’s signing is not made permanent.

The first name on the list is Antonio Nusa of RB Leipzig. The Norwegian attacker was personally scouted in an international game recently by Barça’s new head of scouting and Deco’s right-hand man, Joao Amaral.

The 20-year-old is a player who has attracted attention from several major European clubs for his speed and his dribbling ability from the flank. In case of a transfer, Leipzig will demand a big sum for their young forward, given he has a contract until 2029.

Apart from Nusa, Barcelona are also monitoring Malick Fofana of Olympique Lyon, who has made quite a name for himself over the past year with his speed and guile.

The 20-year-old Belgian international has a contract with the Ligue 1 outfit that runs until 2028 and is an option that the Blaugrana are looking at for next summer.

The last name on the list happens to be Said El Mala of 1. FC Koln. Reports of Barcelona’s interest in the 19-year-old German prodigy have been doing the rounds of late and it appears that they are following him closely.

However, El Mala, who has five goals and three assists in the Bundesliga this term, is also courting interest from several other clubs, including Real Madrid.

What is clear from this is that Barcelona are analysing the market in search of a player for the left flank. The profile, judging by the names on the list, also seems clear. They want a young player with strong dribbling skills and high speed.
